Tamir Akta – acclaimed trumpeter and all-round musician - was born in Israel and is married to Limor,
also a trumpeter, as well as father to their young family: Estelle, Danielle and Ariel. He graduated from
the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts.
During his military service he was a trumpeter in the IDF Orchestra, where he first met Limor. During his service he was principal trumpet player with the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he also performed as a soloist.
Despite his dream of studying in Paris, he decided, upon his military discharge, to study in the US.
Afterwards he studied with the legendary Guy Touvron, at the Paris Conservatoire, completing his
studies there with a Superior Diploma.
Whilst in Paris Tamir won several competitions and appeared as soloist in many concerts.
Now living in his native Israel, Tamir appears as solo trumpeter with ensembles and orchestras both in
Israel and abroad, frequently joined by his wife as a guest soloist.
