Gruppo Amarcord was created in 2000. It was formed
by artists who wish to keep alive and spread the Italian musical and operatic tradition, to renew this legacy of typically Italian music and to spread it through an artistic journey that will enable the operatic tradition to reach an ever-greater audience in Italy and abroad.
The professionalism and versatility that characterise
each individual element of Gruppo Amarcord have contributed to the convergence of its many artistic aspects. The Gruppo Amarcord production has made use of its many facets to create a more modern language through which to communicate operatically, “Comunicare Lirica”. This language that operates at the
level of musical production, organization and stage interpretation with the libretto interpreted in a more modern key, has been defined “Operatic Cabaret” or “Opera Comedy” in the United States, or “Comic Opera” in Japan.
The Gruppo Amarcord artists have selected some of the
best-known operatic arias and folk songs to offer them in a new, more captivating context, especially for an audience that is less accustomed to opera.
"Cabaret Lirico", or “Operatic Cabaret” is nevertheless synonymous with high-quality musical and vocal values, with an innovative staging. Gruppo Amarcord has worked for years, with enormous
public and critical success in Italy and especially on tours abroad that have gone to Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium, England, Czech Republic, Hungary, Brazil, the United States, and Japan. In the near future: Uruguay, Argentina, Australia, China and Korea.
