Adolfo Barabino was born in 1965 in Genoa where he completed his piano studies at the Genoa Conservatoire. At the age of 15 he won the First Prize in the "Citta di Stresa" International competition.
Following his studies with Jasinski and Magaloff, in 1990 he was invited to open the concert season in Lima, Peru, with the ProLirica Symphony Orchestra playing the two Chopin Concertos which were recorded by South American TV and radio stations. Following the success of these performances, he was invited to perform in Buenos Aires, Santiago d C, Montevideo and Bogotà where he also held masterclasses.
He performs regularly in Europe with orchestras including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the National RTV Romanian Orchestra and the Orchestra Filamonica Marchigiana, and has taken part in the "Winners & Masters" concert series in Munich and the Sandor Vègh Chamber Music Festival in Prague. Recordings from a performance in Madrid for the Spanish Radio Classica were broadcast by several European radio stations.
Adolfo Barabino has had considerable success recently in Germany where he gives recitals and in England, where after having performend in the London Wigmore Hall, he has been invited to play with the English Chamber Orchestra as well as with members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and to the record the complete Chopin Nocturnes with C-Records.
In November 2008 he will make his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra playing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No 2.
